1.Material:Our expanded metal meshes are available in base metals of aluminum, carbon steel, titanium, silver, copper, brass, nickel, mild steel and zinc as well as alloys of stainless steel. Protective layering is a critical factor to consider for corrosion resistance, hardening and protection of base materials. Niles Expanded Metals offers multiple options for protective layering including, but not limited to, anodization, e-coating, powder coating, and painted layers for metals and other composite structures.
Anodized metals provide decorative and corrosion resistant surfaces. The finish is effective in architectural applications such as roofs, walls, ceilings, floors and more. It is also safe for the environment, having little to no negative effects on land, in air or water.
An e-coat promotes adhesion with increased wear protection and corrosion resistance. The finish may be produced at any desired coating thickness. E-coats are easier to apply and provide an equal distribution of the coating to any surface.
Powder coating has a higher thickness level than most other protective layers. It is an economically safe and durable finish for any type of metal. This treatment is better than regular wet paint coatings due to its high resistance to wear. All finishes are available according to the type of metal protection or addition that our clients need.
2. Features :The expanded metal is very versatile and available in sheet or coil. Delivery in coil reduces waste and increases cost savings. For example, we are able to produce 10 feet of walkway using less than 26 inches of material with no leftover waste; no other method is as cost efficient as ours. It is uniformly slit and stretched to form a diamond pattern of openings on the sheet. The pattern will vary depending on the gauge, type of material and size that our clients need. It also features a one-piece construction that will not unravel under stress. Our expanded metal is the most practical and economic way to ensure strength of material and safety for all.
Custom sizes are available along with 2D and 3D micro-mesh designs to adhere to alternative applications. Patterns may be modified to increase or decrease the open area through our specialized manufacturing method.
