Duplex stainless steel wire mesh can be made into filter element to sieve various materials in chloride corrosion environmental conditions. With good toughness and welding performance, it also can be used for infill panels or space divider.

Since the birth of duplex stainless steel in the United States in the 1940s, it has grown to the third generation. Its main feature is that the yield strength can reach 400-550MPa, which is twice that of ordinary stainless steel, so it can save materials and reduce equipment manufacturing costs. In terms of corrosion resistance, especially in the medium environment (such as seawater, high chloride ion content), the resistance of pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue of duplex stainless steel is better than ordinary austenite. Duplex stainless steel 2205 alloy is a duplex stainless steel composed of 21% chromium, 2.5% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local resistance to stress corrosion. The 2205 duplex stainless steel has twice the yield strength of austenitic stainless steel. This feature allows the designer to reduce the weight of the product when designing the product, making this alloy more cost-effective than the 316,317L. This alloy is especially suitable for use in the temperature range of -50°F / 600°F. Alloys beyond this temperature range can also be considered, but with some limitations, especially for welding and crevice corrosion, which have high corrosion resistance compared to austenite. It has a lower coefficient of thermal expansion and higher thermal conductivity.
